JSM Property have decided they will no longer send out Christmas cards to their clients and associates in an effort to reduce their impact on the environment and to put the money to better use elsewhere. They have opted instead to send e-greeting cards and to donate the £500 saved on cards each year to a worthy charity. The charity they have chosen to support, for the second year, is East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Says JSM’s regional director, Emma Wells: “EACH is a fantastic charity which supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
“EACH provides care and support wherever the family wishes – in families’ own homes, in the community or at one of their hospices in Ipswich, Milton and Quidenham. This care and support includes short break care, specialist play activities, music therapy, hydrotherapy, parent groups and sibling groups, care at end of life and bereavement support for all family members.
“As a business that has been established in East Anglia for more than 20 years, with many local staff and clients, we are always keen to give something back to our local community. EACH is close to the hearts of many of our employees and we are very pleased to be able to make this donation to help them with their invaluable work.”
Commenting on JSM’s donation Gary Cook, EACH Fundraiser, said: “ East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) are extremely grateful to JSM Property for the wonderful donation of £500.00. We continue to develop the quality and range of our services to support families and care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. We aim to raise more than £5.75 million from public donations to deliver our services; this amounts to more than £15,000 a day, every day of the year.
“The number of families that we have supported has increased again, year on year, with over 570 families supported in the last year and over 86,000 hours of care received. JSM Property’s fantastic support, for the second year running, continues to help us to carry on with this support.”
JSM Property is part of the Leaders group – the UK’s largest independent lettings specialists. This year Leaders chose to divide the total of £2,500 that they saved by not sending out Christmas cards between three charities which operate in the key regions that their 65 branches are located. In addition to EACH, Leaders donations went to Help for Heroes and Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice in Sussex.
